"Driven by a passion to help others, naturally led me into the field of psychology"
Welcome
Based on the beautiful island of Tobago in the Caribbean, my practice is grounded in over 19 years of experience working with children, young people, and families within child and adolescent mental health across the UK and Caribbean.
As a Registered Clinical Psychologist with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), I provide a professional, compassionate, and evidence-based approach to psychological therapy.
Therapy is currently offered online, creating a safe and welcoming space where children, young people, and families can access support wherever they are. Each therapeutic journey is individual, with support thoughtfully adapted to the person's needs, strengths, circumstances, and goals.
At the heart of my practice is a belief that people feel most able to make meaningful change when they feel heard, understood, respected, and supported.
Experience and Professional Practice
Over the course of my career, I have worked across clinical, educational, and community settings in the UK and Caribbean, including:
-
Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services in Tobago and the United Kingdom
-
Remote psychological therapy, supporting clients across the UK in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
-
Specialist education setting in London, supporting children with autism and social communication difficulties
-
Clinical supervision of Clinical Psychologists, CBT therapists, and other mental health practitioners
-
Clinical supervision of Doctoral Clinical Psychology students from various UK universities
-
Lecturing on undergraduate psychology courses in Trinidad and Tobago
-
School-based counselling and guidance services in Trinidad
Over the past eight years, I have worked remotely, developing extensive experience in providing psychological support through online platforms.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of children, young people, and families, both individually and in groups.
My Approach
It is important that you find a therapist that you and your child feels comfortable with. I believe therapy should be a space where children and young people feel safe, heard, understood, and respected.
My approach is:
-
Warm and supportive
-
Collaborative
-
Evidence-based
-
Individualized
-
Neurodiversity-informed
I recognize that every young person is different, and there is no single therapeutic approach that works for everyone.
I therefore adapt psychological therapy to meet the individual needs of each child or young person, taking into account their developmental stage, communication style, strengths, interests, sensory needs, and individual circumstances.
I have a particular interest in working with neurodiverse young people and adapting therapeutic approaches to make therapy accessible, meaningful, and engaging.
